-The Winnipeg Blue Bombers dropped their first game of the season 37-16 to the Calgary Stampeders. The Bombers and Stampeders meet again on July 18th in Winnipeg. Tonight, the Toronto Argonauts (1-3) host the Hamilton Tiger Cats (1-2).
-The Toronto Blue Jays swept their 4-game series with the Yankees beating New York 8-5 last night. The Jays host the L-A Angels tonight.
-The Brandon Young Guns downed Boissevain 5-2 in Thursday night’s lone Southwest Baseball League game.
-Winnipeg Jets winger Nikolaj Ehlers is off to Carolina. The 29-year-old, who spent 10 years with the Jets, signed a six-year, $51-million dollar deal with the Hurricanes on day three of free agency.
