A swimmer in the Valley River got a nasty surprise when they were in the shallow area of the water, and Dauphin RCMP are now investigating whether the remains they found are historical or not.
In a release today, Dauphin RCMP said they were called to a report of partial skeletal remains in the Valley River not far from Dauphin. The call came in at about 7:50 PM on July 7, and when police arrived a swimmer told them they had found those remains in the shallow water.
βThe investigation into the origins of these skeletal remains, their age (whether historical or not) will continue with the assistance of an anthropologist, RCMP Forensic Identification Services and RCMP Search and Rescue,β said RCMP in their release.
Dauphin RCMP continue to investigate.
