Premier Wab Kinew awarded one of Manitoba’s highest honours, the Order of the Buffalo Hunt, to Const. Moshe Linov of the Brandon Police Service and the École Secondaire Neelin High School first responders following a violent incident that struck at the heart of a place meant to be safe.
“In a moment when the duty to keep people safe called, these first responders stepped up,” said Kinew. “They didn’t just save the life of Chinonso Onuke, they gave a frightened school community something even more powerful – the reassurance that even in our toughest moments, we are not alone. Today, we honour their bravery and their humanity.”
Linov, alongside other Neelin High School first responders, were inducted into the Order of the Buffalo Hunt following a ceremony held today at Brandon City Hall.
Established in 1957, Manitoba’s Order of the Buffalo Hunt is accompanied by a certificate of membership, signed by the premier and sealed with the Great Seal of Manitoba.
The Order of the Buffalo Hunt was recently conferred upon the first responders from the Carberry tragedy.
