Arrest Warrant / Resist Arrest
On July 24th a BPS officer was patrolling in the 400 block of 9th Street and noted a female known to have a Warrant for Arrest sitting on the ground. Upon the officer attempting to speak with the 26-year-old female she took off running. She was apprehended a short distance away. She was arrested and held in BPS cells due to her intoxication levels. She will be released on an Appearance Notice (in the morning once sober) with a court date of September 8th, 2025.
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)/ Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested for IPDA and two for Breach of the Peace. All individuals will be released in the morning once sober / calmed down.
Breach of Undertaking
On July 24th at 2:49PM BPS officers were called to a store in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. A 29-year-old female was arrested for Breach of Undertaking as she was on a condition not to attend the store. She was later released with a court date of October 9th, 2025.
LGCCA Minor Possession / Consume Liquor
On July 24th at 7:00PM a highly intoxicated 17-year-old female called police to attend a residence in the 200 block of 3rd Street due to acquaintances of hers holding her keys. She stated she would wait outside for Police. An additional call came in from an acquaintance stating the 17-year-old female was back at the residence and causing a disturbance due to caller not giving her the keys so she could drive. Police attended and the highly intoxicated female was arrested and her mother was notified for pickup.
Break and Enter / Failure to Comply Undertaking
On July 25th at 12:01AM security from a hotel in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue requested assistance due to several females who were causing a disturbance and fighting in one of the rooms. A First Nation Safety Officer attended the situation and brought one of the females to BPS on the strength of her outstanding endorsed RCMP Arrest Warrant. (B&E and Failure to Comply Undertaking). The 24-year-old female will be released once sober. Court date has been requested.
