A big weekend in Deloraine drew a crowd of well over a thousand, and that’s a conservative estimate according to organizers of the Deloraine Summer Fair.
In a post on social media, organizers said they had nearly 1400 attendees between Friday and Saturday, and that wasn’t including the kids who were allowed to come to the fair for free. Organizers said they filled the grandstands and had to add more bleachers.
“We are incredibly grateful for all the support we received over the weekend,” reads a post on the Fair’s Facebook page. “We love you, Deloraine, and couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you.”
Among the highlights of the fair were $1165 raised for the Deloraine Food Cupboard from the 50/50 raffle, 17 cars in their demolition derby, a new petting zoo, and 33 participants in their first annual Belgian bowling tournament in support of their curling club.
