A 33-year-old woman is dead and a 26-year-old man needed to be airlifted to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance after a shooting on Keeseekoowenin First Nation, RCMP said in a release.
According to police, a call came in at about 2:45 AM on July 28 of a possible shooting at a home in the community. When officers arrived on scene, they found two people who had been shot.
Officers and EMS tried to perform CPR on the 33-year-old woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. The 26-year-old man was taken to hospital by STARS but, according to police, has since been released.
In their release, RCMP said they have deemed the incident to be targeted, and there is no danger or threat to the public.
