The date has been set for a byelection for a new Spruce Woods MLA, but there will be plenty of opportunities leading up to that day for local voters to cast their ballot.
The provincial government has announced three additional days of voting in the coming byelection, as well as the voting to take place on the election day of August 26. Starting on Saturday, August 16, advance voting will be available at the Spruce Woods Local Election Office at Unit 3, 811 18th St. N. in the Corral Centre in Brandon.
In addition, the province is offering voters a chance to go digital and download their voter information card. The province said this card will make voting faster and will count as a piece of ID, but you can still cast a ballot without one.
Eligible voters can get their voter information card online at www.electionsmanitoba.ca/register by confirming they are eligible and registered to vote and then saving their voter information card to a mobile device or printing a copy.
The Local Election Office is also available for all election questions. They can help voters find out where and when to cast their ballot and help with registration or voter cards. Voters can call (204) 726-6111 or visit in person at Brandon’s Corral Centre.
