Arrest Warrant
In the past 24 hours there were five (5) Arrest Warrants executed.
Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours there were three (3) Breaches of the Peace. In all three incidents the individuals were highly intoxicated, arrested, held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells and will be released once sober.
Failure to Comply Release Order
On August 19th at 12:04AM an officer initiated pedestrian stop was conducted with a female who was found to be in breach of her Release Order curfew. She was also in violation of abstaining from consuming alcohol. She was arrested, held in BPS detention cells, and will attend court in the morning on August 19th, 2025.
Attempted Armed Robbery / Failure to Comply Probation
On August 18th at 8:13PM a male reported he was walking home with his groceries when he was approached by a male and female in the 300 block of 9th Street. The male asked what he had while attempting to cut him. Onlookers gathered and the suspects fled. At 1:21AM police located the suspects matching the description. The 33-year-old male was arrested, held in BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning. He was charged with Attempted Armed Robbery and Failure to Comply Probation Order (Abstain from owning, possessing, or carrying a weapon). The 23-year-old female was charged with Party to the Offence of Armed Robbery. She was released via Undertaking with a court date of October 16th, 2025.
Immediate Roadside Prohibition / Possession of Weapon Charges
On August 19th at approximately 2:41 AM, a traffic stop was conducted in the 700 block of Rosser Avenue after a police officer observed a vehicle proceed through a red light with its headlights turned off. The 21-year-old male driver failed a roadside screening device (ASD) test and was found to be in possession of brass knuckles, an imitation Glock handgun, and a hatchet.
Further investigation revealed the male was in breach of a court-ordered curfew between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM. He was arrested and held in Brandon Police Service detention cells until sober. He will be released on an Undertaking with a court date set for November 3, 2025.
In addition to criminal charges, the individual was issued several tickets under the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act, including:
- Unlawful transportation of liquor in a motor vehicle
- Possession of fewer than 25 units of unmarked tobacco
- Operating a vehicle with alcohol in the blood while holding an alcohol- or drug-restricted Class 5 or higher driver’s licence
Criminal charges include:
- Immediate Roadside Prohibition
- Possession of a Weapon (x2)
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
Child Endangerment
On August 18th at approximately 4:44 PM, police were contacted by Child and Family Services (CFS) to assist with a wellbeing check on a 24-year-old female and her infant in the 3500 block of McDonald Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observed the woman fleeing while holding the child. During the incident, she stumbled multiple times and entered active traffic. Police safely apprehended the woman, who was found to be highly intoxicated. The infant was immediately secured without major injury and was assessed and cared for by Brandon Fire and Emergency Services. CFS placed the child in the care of a family member. The 24-year-old female was taken to BPS and held in custody to attend court in the morning.
Failure to Comply Undertaking
On August 18th at 6:26PM an employee from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue called regarding a female being in the store who is bound by an Undertaking not to attend the store. Police attended and arrested the female. She was later released via Appearance Notice with a court date the following morning on August 19th, 2025.
