A Former Regina junior hockey coach’s day parole was revoked after sending a Facebook friend request to a victim
Bernard ‘Bernie’ Lynch physically, and sexually assaulted a 17-year-old hockey player in 1988 while working as an assistant coach for the Western Hockey Leagues’ Regina Pats in ‘88.
The identity of the victim is protected under a standard publication ban.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says her government is rewriting a ministerial order directing school divisions to ban books containing sexually explicit content to ensure classic books stay on library shelves. Smith says the order is being changed to only target books that contain images of sexual content.

American tariffs and an upcoming review of the continental trade pact will headline discussions today as Prime Minister Mark Carney’s cabinet begins its two-day retreat in Toronto. The meetings come two weeks before the House of Commons is to return for the fall sitting and about a month or so before Carney’s new government presents its first federal budget.
