A 16-year-old boy and a 49-year-old woman face multiple charges after Dauphin RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on Davidson Avenue West in Dauphin. In a release, police said the search warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred over video chat.
According to RCMP, they got a report on August 30 at about 10:15 PM that a 16-year-old boy had threatened a 15-year-old with a weapon during a video chat. This led to an investigation and the warrant being executed on September 1.
Police allege they found numerous unsafely stored firearms at the residence, as well as an illegal magazine for a firearm and a conducted energy weapon, in addition to what they describe as “organized crime paraphernalia”. They arrested the 16-year-old boy and the 49-year-old woman.
In their release, police said both people face multiple charges and were later released on undertakings with future court dates. Dauphin RCMP will continue to investigate.
