The Manitoba government is providing $100,000 in support of relief organization Khalsa Aid.
Premier Wab Kinew said in a weekend media release, “Khalsa Aid was on the ground this summer providing essential support to Manitobans who were evacuated from their homes during this devastating wildfire season. Seeing the strong presence of Khalsa Aid in Manitoba was a reminder of why we are all so proud to call this province home.”
The premier noted the investment will also help Khalsa Aid deliver co-ordinated emergency relief efforts in flood-ravaged regions of India and Pakistan.
Khalsa Aid is a non-profit humanitarian organization that provides disaster relief, supports refugees, and works to aid communities around the world.
