With job action looming for Canada Post workers, the Manitoba government has announced it has a plan to keep certain kinds of mail flowing if a work shutdown should occur.
In a release, the province announced they would keep critical mail, including cheques, coming by directing it to distribution centres. According to the province, they will do this beginning on October 3.
In this instance, critical mail refers to cheques, court orders, educational materials, medical supplies and resources required to maintain health-care services, and “other prioritized items”.
Further information on locations, hours of operation and the types of mail that can be picked up, will be made available at: https://manitoba.ca/postaldisruption/index.html.
