Brandon police say on September 26 and 27, 2025, the local service’s Organized Crime Section and the Winnipeg Police Service Counter Exploitation Unit, with support from the Manitoba Criminal Intelligence Centre – Manitoba Justice, conducted a Joint Forces Operation targeting sexual exploitation in the City of Brandon.
The coordinated investigation, titled Project BLOCKADE, aimed to disrupt both street-level and online exploitation activities.
Over the course of the two-day operation, 23 adult males were arrested for Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration or Communicating in Any Place for That Purpose, contrary to Criminal Code. The arrests occurred across multiple locations, including downtown Brandon and local hotels.
As part of the enforcement actions:
- 7 vehicles were seized under Section 242.2(3) of the Highway Traffic Act, which allows for the impoundment of motor vehicles used in prostitution-related offences.
- All accused individuals were released on Undertakings in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Code.
