IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested and brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells due to intoxication levels. They will be released once sober.
Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested on the strength of their warrants. Two individuals were released via Appearance Notice for court dates in the future. The third individual was currently in custody at Brandon Correctional Centre (BCC), and at the request of the RCMP a BPS officer executed the RCMP Warrant there. The 40-year-old male remained in custody at BCC for court in the morning.
Structure Fire
On October 15th at approximately 4:40 p.m., a fire was reported in the back lane of the 400 block of 15th Street. Brandon Fire & Emergency Services alongside BPS members attended. It was reported that the homeowner had placed a pail of ashes against a two-car garage, believing the ashes had cooled. Unfortunately, the ashes reignited, causing the garage to catch fire. As a result, the garage and a vehicle inside were lost. The fire also caused damage to a nearby fence. No injuries were reported.
Breach of the Peace
On October 15th at 5:36 p.m. police were called due to a male causing a disturbance in the 200 block of 18th Street North. The male had been asked to leave a place of business but would not do so. Police attended and found the highly intoxicated 33-year-old male. He was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells to be released once sober.
Break-In Under Investigation
On October 15th at approximately 10:29 p.m., a security company reported an alarm at a business in the 1500 block of Park Avenue. Brandon Police attended the scene and discovered broken glass and an insecure door. It was determined that approximately $1,000 in cash was stolen during the break-in. Assault / Sexual Assault
On September 29th, a report was made to the Brandon Police Service regarding a sexual assault involving a 17-year-old female victim. The incident also included an allegation of physical assault, where the victim was reportedly slapped by the suspect. It was determined that the victim and the suspect were known to each other. Following an investigation, the 22-year-old male suspect attended the Brandon Police Service on the evening of October 15th, 2025, where he was arrested. He was later released on conditions via an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on December 22nd, 2025.
Failure to Comply Undertaking
On October 16th at 2:09 a.m. a persons check was conducted on a female in the 700 block of Rosser Avenue. The 32-year-old female was found to be breaching her 9 p.m. curfew. She was arrested and later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of December 30th, 2025.
