-The Brandon Wheat Kings won their second game of the season, 6-3 over the Kamloops Blazers last night. The Wheat Kings play next in Regina against the Pats on Saturday.
-The Brandon AAA U18 Wheat Kings downed the Norman Northstars 12-1 on Thursday. The two teams meet again tonight at J&G Homes Arena in Brandon.
-The Winnipeg Jets beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 last night to improve to 3-and-1. Winnipeg is back home against the Nashville Predators on Saturday.
-The Toronto Blue Jays evened the American League Championship Series at 2 wins apiece after an 8-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Thursday. Game 5 is tonight in Seattle. In the NLCS – The LA Dodgers beat the Milwaukee Brewers 3-1 to take a 3-0 series lead.
-The Winnipeg Blue Bombers host the Saskatchewan Roughriders tonight. A Bombers win and they’re in the playoffs, but only if Edmonton loses on the road to the B.C. Lions in the late game.
-The Bobcats soccer teams wrap-up their regular season with matches against the Assiniboine College Cougars on Sunday at Cougars Field. The women’s game begins at 1:00 pm, followed by the men’s match at 3:15. The Bobcats volleyball teams both begin their Canada West seasons this weekend by visiting the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds. The basketball season begins next week.
