Beginning on November 10, the City of Brandon will be looking for blue bins in front of houses and other dwellings again as they are returning weekly recycling bin collection.
In a release, the City said this decision came from their council meeting on October 20. This coincides with the end of organic waste collection for the season (which will end November 3 to November 7).
“The timing aligns with the seasonal end of organics collection, allowing crews to maintain weekly refuse and recycling service through year-end,” reads a release from the city. “Council will evaluate long-term service levels during the 2026 budget process.”
The release also noted that, for residents with a collection date on Tuesday, there would be no collection on November 11 as several city facilities will be closed
or have modified hours of operation on Remembrance Day. They will instead do their weekly collections on November 10.
Residents may leave organics in their green bin over winter. Excess materials can be dropped off at the Eastview Landfill (765 – 33rd St. E.) free of charge. Organics collection will resume in spring 2026.
