Arrest Warrants
On October 20th there were four individuals arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Two of those four individuals landed new charges and were held for court in the morning. The other two were released via Appearance Notice with a future court date.
Individual #1 New Charges: Failure to Comply Release Order & Possession of Methamphetamine
Individual #2 New Charges: Public Mischief, Assault Peace Officer, Resist Arrest & Failure to Comply Release Order
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
In the past 24 hours, three individuals were arrested due to high levels of intoxication. All were transported to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells for their safety and the safety of others. They will be released once they are sober and no longer pose a risk.
Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours, two individuals were arrested in connection with a single incident involving a breach of the peace. Both parties were intoxicated and engaged in a physical altercation. They were taken into custody and will be released once they are sober/calmed down.
Failure to Comply Release Order
On October 20th police conducted a curfew check on a 40-year-old female who has a 9:00 p.m. – 7 a.m. curfew. She was not at home. The female called back at midnight. Police reattended the residence and the female was arrested, brought to BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning on October 21st, 2025.
Assault
On October 20th at approximately 11:13 a.m., police received a report of an assault that occurred at a residence on Cornell Bay. A 26-year-old female reported that her ex-boyfriend, 27-year-old male, had attended her residence, where he grabbed her by the arms and pushed her down a flight of stairs. The incident was captured on video. By 12:00 p.m., police located and arrested the accused. He was later released on conditions with a court date of January 5th, 2026.
