Canada Forces Base Shilo says it will facilitate road access to nearby provincial Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) for the 2025 hunting season.
Starting Monday, November 3, 2025 hunters wanting to access the WMAs located along the Assiniboine River south of the Shilo Range and Training Area can arrange to receive access passes at Range Control for use of the Stockton Gate.
As of November 10, 2025 hunting in the WMA located south of the Shilo Ranges will be accessible through controlled transit on federal property to the isolated WMAs. Entrance will only be permitted through the Stockton Gate along a prescribed route to the WMA during the allowed hunting hours and season. There is NO HUNTING within the Shilo Range and Training Area.
Hunters wishing to access the WMAs must first attend a safety briefing at CFB Shilo Range Control. Briefings will be held daily at Range Control at 1000hrs and 1600hrs starting November 3 until Sunday November 30, 2024.
