A search of a Winnipeg landfill for the remains of a victim of a convicted serial killer could begin in December. The province is reportedly hiring staff to search Brady Road landfill for the remains of Ashlee Shingoose. This
past summer, the remains of two other victims, Morgan Harris and Marcedes Myran, were discovered at a landfill north of Winnipeg.

Another report is warning about increasing food insecurity in Canada. A report by Food Banks Canada says monthly food bank visits have nearly doubled since 2019, increasing by over 99% to nearly 2.2-million. Brandon needs a wood chipper and will spend nearly $173,000 to buy a new one. It’ll help the public works department with tree and branch removal, and will be shared with the parks department. Council approved the purchase at Monday’s meeting.

The owner of Tastee’s Ice Cream and Grill on 1st Street is taking over the former Benny’s Restaurant location on Rosser Avenue.
