Assault with a Weapon
On November 2nd, 2025, at 8:47 p.m. police were informed that someone was sprayed with bear spray in the 200 block of 5th Street. It was reported that the victim was in a cab out front when the suspect exited the residence and sprayed him, then went back inside the residence. Police members located the suspect at the residence along with the bear spray. A 20-year-old male was arrested and later released on an Undertaking. A court date has been set for January 12th, 2026.
Breach of the Peace / IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
In the past 24 hours one individual was arrested for Breach of the Peace and three for IPDA. All individuals were brought to BPS detention cells to prevent the continuation of their behavior and for their own safety. They will be released once cleared and sober.
Mischief Under $5000 x2 / Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
On November 3rd at approximately 12:27 a.m., police received a report of a male in a parking lot in the 2000 block of Brandon Avenue who was observed swinging an object and striking a vehicle. Officers attended and located a vehicle with visible damage. A description of the suspect was provided, and police located the male nearby. Shortly after, a second report was received regarding another damaged vehicle in the same area. When officers apprehended the suspect, he was found in possession of a change purse that had been reported stolen from the second vehicle. The male was arrested and held in custody until sober. Once sober, he will be released on an Undertaking with a court date set for January 12th, 2026.
Failure to Comply Release Order
On November 3rd at 1:41 a.m. police were called to the 3300 block of McDonald Avenue as a female was reportedly inside a vehicle that was not hers. Police attended and the 34-year-old female was found to breaching a Release Order that states she must reside in Winnipeg. The female was arrested, held in BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning.
Assault
On November 2nd at approximately 12:16 p.m., a 38-year-old male attended the Brandon Police Service to turn himself in, advising officers that he had assaulted his 36-year-old partner. The female victim was outside the station and prepared to provide a statement to police. The male was arrested and held in custody to appear in court on the morning of November 3rd, 2025.
Arrest Warrant with New Charges
On November 2nd at approximately 3:48 p.m., a pedestrian check involving three males in the 700 block of Van Horne Avenue was conducted. During the check, it was confirmed that one of the males, a 14-year-old youth, had an unendorsed warrant for his arrest. At that moment the youth fled on foot. A foot pursuit ensued, and the male was apprehended. The male was charged with Resist Arrest and issued a ticket for Possession of Cannabis by a Young Person. A notice to parent was issued. The male was held in custody to appear in court on the morning of November 3rd, 2025.
