If you’ve been wanting a white Christmas – don’t worry, it’s on its way. The weather office predicts most of Canada
will see near or colder than normal temperatures, and near or above normal snowfall. The forecast says it won’t
necessarily be a historically severe winter – but December and January will be colder than in the past few years.

A 46-year-old man was killed after he lost control of a scooter he was driving and crashed in Minnedosa
on Tuesday afternoon. RCMP say they found the man lying on 3rd Avenue with the electric scooter nearby.
He was not wearing a helmet, and later died in hospital of his injuries.

Dauphin RCMP are investigating after several snowmobiles and trailers were stolen from a storage unit.
Three Polaris snowmobiles and two utility trailers were taken sometime between Monday night and Tuesday
morning. Police say in all, 8 storage units were ransacked.

Manitoba and Ottawa are putting a total of $12.5-million dollars towards 32 initiatives working to end
gender-based violence. The money will fund legal consultations, interpretations and counselling. More
than 27-thousand Manitobans used these services last year – many from rural and northern areas.

Manitoba is offering a new $5-thousand dollar bursary program for students to train as emergency medical responders –
something rural leaders have wanted for years. The province expects between 50 and 60 graduates. Meanwhile, the paramedics
union says the province is still falling short on its promise to hire 200 new paramedics, adding only 18 in two years.

McDonald’s wants to bring a prototype drive-thru only restaurant to Manitoba – the Winnipeg location would be
a Canadian first. There are only two other locations like it in the entire world – both in the U-S: in Texas and California.
The drive-thru would employ 60 people – a McDonald’s restaurant usually has around 80.
