Manitoba Municipalities in Westman passed a resolution this week, to improve lab and X-ray technician education. It was passed with a 97 per cent vote, with the goal of expanding the number of seats in its training programs for rural students. It also calls for Manitoba to fast track Assiniboine Colleges lab and x-ray program for 2027.

The Royal Bank of Canada has found that residents of Manitoba and Saskatchewan are the most likely to fall for scams in the country. 88 per cent say that they can spot a scam, but about 34 per cent of them have already fallen victim. With online shopping and deliveries picking up in the holiday season, scammers are the most active this time of year.

A Brandon man was sentenced to 4 years in jail after being convicted of several firearm-related charges. Officers stopped 39 year old Nick Hunter and searched his backpack, which contained a loaded sawed-off shotgun. He pled guilty to possession of a loaded firearm and breaching firearms prohibition.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled pistachio products due to salmonella. While products may appear fine, some folks with weaker systems may become seriously ill. From July to October, over 100 people have gotten sick from this salmonella outbreak.
