They see the program as a practical step toward improving safety. The Brandon sun says The Manitoba Government is introducing a $10 million dollar program, allowing businesses to claim $2,500 dollars for security upgrades or crime-related repairs, and its retroactive.

-18th Street North and Braecrest Drive is getting a new roundabout due to increased traffic and safety concerns. This from the city of Brandon and the provincial government. Construction is planned for next summer and is to end before December 2026.

-Canadian libraries say a budget proposal could end shipping to rural libraries. Bill C-15 would remove requirements for guaranteed reduced mailing rates. Canada Post could set its own prices. They said library book rates would be kept the same, but advocates say legislation is needed to ensure protection. Higher shipping costs could be too expensive for book sharing programs, and could force rural libraries to close.
