Aggravated Assault/ Assault with a Weapon
At 9:45 p.m., officers on a downtown patrol encountered an altercation involving four people outside a local bar. Upon seeing police, two of the individuals fled inside. A 25‑year‑old woman approached officers and reported that she had been stabbed in the chest. EMS was requested, and officers provided first aid on scene.
Additional units located the suspect, a 20-year-old Brandon man, inside the bar. Video evidence confirmed he was involved and had possessed the knife used in the assault. He was arrested and held for court.
The victim was transported to hospital and later transferred to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Her chest injury is considered serious but not life‑threatening. The incident is believed to have originated inside the bar between patrons, though it is unknown whether the parties were previously known to each other.
Single Vehicle Roll-over
At 10:10 p.m., emergency crews responded to a single‑vehicle rollover on 18th Street North. The 19‑year‑old male driver, who was the only occupant, was not injured. Alcohol was not a factor, and icy road conditions are believed to have caused the crash.
Missing Located
On Friday afternoon, Brandon Police received a request from the Saskatchewan RCMP asking for assistance in locating two youths from the Regina area. The pair, aged 17 and 18, had allegedly taken a parent’s vehicle without consent and were now believed to be in Brandon. Police located them in the vehicle in a North Hill parking lot. Both were taken into custody and later released to their parents.
