
Stay home, that’s the message for Canadians planning to travel to Mexico. Global Affairs Canada says criminal groups have set up roadblocks in several cities across southwestern Mexico as violence escalates. There is a shelter in place order in Puerto Vallarta, where Canadians are advised to keep a low profile, monitor media reports, and follow orders from local authorities. Air Canada, says that it’s flights to and from Puerto Vallarta on Monday have been cancelled.

A $3-billion dollar Mb Hydro-turbine investment project for Brandon; is in it’s engagement phase. Mb Hydro is hosting 2-open houses in Westman; at the Riverdale Community Centre in Rivers Feb. 28 ; and March 3 at the Brandon Legion. The investment project would see 3-combustion turbine units built at the Brandon Generating Station to help power the province; during peak usage times. Construction could start as early as 2028; costing $2.5 to $3 billion dollars. The opening of the facility is slated for 2030.

B-U Students, Staff and residents have been asking for it for years. Finally “Crosswalk lights” were installed at the intersection of 18th Street and Lorne Avenue in front of Brandon University last month. B-U announced the safety improvement; as a collaboration between the province, the university and the City of Brandon.

An 20-year old armed man was shot, and killed after entering the perimeter at Trump’s Mar-a-Largo estate; early Sunday afternoon. The Secret Service says the U.S. President was not present at his resort in Palm Beach, Florida at the time, he was at the White House.
