A Federal NDP MP crossed the floor to Liberals, bringing Prime Minister Carney closer to majority government Tuesday. Nunavut MP’s Lori Idlout move brings the Liberals to 170 seats, dropping the NDP to 6-seats; ahead of 3 byelections, set for April 13th.

“Free the beer”…The Federal Conservatives want to make it easier to mail alcohol between provinces…a private members Bill was introduced yesterday. Right now it’s against the law for Canada Post to deliver Canadian alcohol to Canadian consumers in six of 10 provinces. The P-M vowed to eliminate trade barriers; having free trade in Canada by July 1.

A U.S. medical museum has returned the partial remains of 12-Canadian soldiers from the First World War. The Department of National Defense would not say “what exactly” the remains consist of. The remains ended up at the Mutter Museum and Historical Medical Library in Philadelphia after being sent there in 1919 for a study.

Wiarton Willie, Ontario’s beloved weather-predicting groundhog, has died. The town of South Bruce Peninsula says Willie died peacefully in his sleep and the search for a successor will begin shortly. The Groundhog Day tradition started 70 years ago.

Ottawa dropped it’s TikTok ban, and will now let the platform stay in Canada with conditions. This after the Prime Minister visited China to secured a deal to get Beijing to lower agricultural tariffs in exchange for new market access for Chinese electric vehicles.

Manitoba’s PC party has nominated 2-sitting Westman M-L-A’s to run in the next provincial election. The party announced the acclamation of Greg Nesbitt (Riding Mountain), Colleen Robbins (Spruce Woods) and Josh Goonter (Borderland) The next provincial election is scheduled for October 2027.
