Brandon City Council is preparing to fill a key position on the Brandon Downtown Development Corporation (BDDC) Board of Directors, with applications now open for a three‑year term beginning in April 2026 and ending in March 2029. The appointment will play an important role in guiding ongoing efforts to support and revitalize Brandon’s downtown.
The BDDC Board oversees the strategic direction of the organization, setting broad policies and long‑term objectives aimed at strengthening the city’s core. Board members are responsible for supporting and appointing the Executive Director, reviewing and approving annual budgets, making decisions on program administration and funding applications, and ensuring the organization has the financial resources needed to carry out its work. Members are also expected to use their professional experience, community connections, and local knowledge to advance downtown development initiatives.
To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years of age. City Council will review all submissions and make the final appointment.
Residents interested in contributing to the future of downtown Brandon are encouraged to apply online at brandondowntowndevelopment.ca/board-application. Applications must be submitted no later than Friday, March 27, 2026.
Anyone seeking more information about the role or the work of the BDDC can contact the organization directly at 204‑720‑0342 or downtowndevelopment@brandon.ca.
