Residents in Carberry and the surrounding Municipality of North Cypress‑Langford are being encouraged to share their perspectives on local life during a community conversation taking place Wednesday, April 8, 2026. The Carberry and Area Community Foundation is hosting a Vital Conversation on Community Wellbeing at 7 p.m. at Carberry Collegiate on Main Street.
The event will compare findings from a 2022 community survey with new data collected in 2026, giving residents an opportunity to highlight what has changed and what challenges remain. Organizers say the updated survey examines several key areas, including access to childcare, healthcare wait times, employment opportunities, and the availability of recreation and leisure activities. The research is based on the Canadian Index of Wellbeing framework developed at the University of Waterloo.
The upcoming session follows a similar process held in late 2022, which identified priorities such as the need for a community gathering hub, concerns around daycare availability, and communication gaps following the closure of the local newspaper. The Foundation, a registered charity serving the region since 1996, will use the new insights to help guide future grant‑making and support projects in areas like arts, culture, health, and recreation. Residents can register for the event through the Foundation’s website.
