A 35-year-old man faces charges including forcible confinement, assault, and resisting a peace officer after an arrest by Blue Hills RCMP on Sunday.
According to an RCMP release, police were called out at about 6:00 PM on April 5 to a report of shots being fired inside a residence north of Souris.
“Officers learned an armed male was at the home and that multiple shots were fired by the suspect during an altercation with one of the people inside,” RCMP said in their release. “He ignored multiple orders from officers using a loudspeaker ordering him to leave the residence.”
Police said they entered the home over three hours later, at about 9:15 PM, and although police allege the suspect resisted arrest, he was arrested with no injuries to anyone. While in the house, police seized a prohibited rifle, ammunition, and a tactical vest.
