Manitoba Health has added a new Brandon location to its measles exposure list following a confirmed case investigation, marking the latest in a series of public advisories issued this spring. The update identifies a potential exposure on March 31, 2026, at the Brandon South Liquor Mart, where individuals may have come into contact with the virus during the time period listed by the province.
Public health officials are urging anyone who was at the location during the specified window to monitor for symptoms, which typically include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a characteristic rash that appears several days after initial illness. Symptoms can develop up to 21 days after exposure.
The province continues to emphasize the importance of vaccination, noting that the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine remains the most effective protection against the highly contagious virus. Manitoba Health advises individuals who are unsure of their vaccination status to contact their health‑care provider or local public health office.
This latest exposure notice comes as health officials track measles activity across the province, with several sites previously identified in southern Manitoba and Winnipeg. Public health teams continue to conduct contact tracing and provide guidance to individuals who may have been exposed.
Residents can find the full list of current exposure sites and recommended actions on the Manitoba government’s measles information page, which is updated as new investigations unfold.
