Cate Blanchett is set to take on the role of Martha Stewart in an upcoming biopic, with the lifestyle icon herself confirming the news while hinting at the project.
When asked about the idea of being portrayed by Blanchett on a red carpet on Tuesday, Stewart said, “I hope so. I’ve been hearing rumors,” before adding, “I think there’s something in the works right now with Cate Blanchett called ‘Good Thing.’”

The film’s title nods to her signature phrase, “It’s a good thing,” and will be directed by Janicza Bravo. Martha didn’t mention if she is involved with the new project, but the approval goes a long way since she’s denounced every film about her life including the 2024 Netflix doc, “Martha,” as well as the 2003 movies “Martha, Inc.: The Story of Martha Stewart,” and its 2005 sequel, “Martha: Behind Bars.”
