Brandon Street sweeping is officially underway in Brandon as crews begin clearing sand, gravel, and winter debris from major routes across the city.
The City says work started the week of April 15, beginning with high‑traffic corridors, the downtown core, and priority streets that see the heaviest spring cleanup needs. These areas are always tackled first to improve safety, reduce dust, and prepare for the broader citywide sweep.
Once the primary routes are completed, crews will move into residential neighborhoods. Unlike garbage pickup, street sweeping does not follow a fixed day‑by‑day schedule. Progress depends heavily on weather, equipment availability, and how quickly priority routes can be completed. To help residents track where crews have been — and where they’re headed next — the City maintains a live, interactive sweeping map that updates throughout the season.
