Repair work on 26th Street in Brandon has been finished, and that’s the good news. The City of Brandon is advising that a selection of 26th Street is now under a boil water advisory, however.
According to the city, the water main in the area is being flushed. They have placed a maintenance advisory on the 500 to 800 blocks of 26th Street and will provide an update when the advisory has been lifted.
In the mean time, they’re asking anyone using water for drinking and ice making, preparing beverages, including infant formula, preparing food, including washing fruits and vegetables, and brushing teeth to boil it for one minute before using it. It is not necessary to boil water for household tasks like washing dishes or laundry.
