A major addition to Brandon’s core is on the way as Hermanos Steakhouse prepares to open inside the historic downtown Firehall this June. The Brandon Downtown BIZ says the project marks a significant step forward for the 115‑year‑old landmark, bringing new energy, investment, and activity into one of the city’s most recognizable heritage buildings.
Hermanos, known for its long‑standing location in Winnipeg’s Exchange District, is expanding its brand west with a full dining and entertainment concept tailored for downtown Brandon. The development will feature a steakhouse and lounge, a cigar lounge, special culinary events, and a future comedy club space — creating a multi‑use destination for residents and visitors.
The opening month will include a series of launch events, starting with the June 18 launch night with all proceeds going to the Brandon Downtown Biz. The Firefighters Ball will take place on June 21, with proceeds supporting the Firefighters Association. The BIZ says the project reflects a vision of downtown as a gathering place once again, blending the Firehall’s history with new experiences and community‑focused programming.
Led by entrepreneurs Riley and Juliana Bernier, the team behind Hermanos aims to bring a hospitality style rooted in South American culture, connection, and celebration. The BIZ notes that the project has been supported through collaboration with the City of Brandon and community partners, all working to strengthen momentum in the downtown district.
The Brandon Downtown BIZ says Hermanos is one of several developments contributing to a more vibrant, welcoming, and thriving downtown.
