The Western Conference Final is set in the Stanley Cup Playoffs as the Vegas Golden Knights beat the Anaheim Ducks 5-1 to win their series in six games. They’ll move on to face the Colorado Avalanche. Out East, Montreal moved one step away from their own conference final with a 6-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres. They’ll have a chance to advance on Saturday night.
After a day off yesterday, the Toronto Blue Jays resume play this evening when they start a three-game weekend set with the Detroit Tigers. They’ll play every day this coming long weekend.
The Men’s World Hockey Championships begin today in Switzerland. Winnipeg Jets forward Mark Scheifele will start out on the wing on a line with Sidney Crosby and Macklin Celebrini as Canada opens the tournament against Sweden.
