Manitoba is reopening applications for its Innovation Growth Program (IGP), giving homegrown companies another opportunity to secure provincial support to turn new ideas into market‑ready products. The program, which has already helped dozens of Manitoba firms scale up, is designed to accelerate commercialization, boost competitiveness, and create new jobs across the province.
The IGP provides cost‑shared funding to small and medium‑sized businesses developing innovative products, processes, or technologies. Companies can receive up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs, helping them bridge the gap between early‑stage development and full commercial launch. The province says the goal is to strengthen Manitoba’s innovation ecosystem and support businesses that are ready to grow but need financial backing to take the next step.
For Western Manitoba, the program represents a significant opportunity. The region’s ag‑tech developers, manufacturers, food processors, and digital startups are all well‑positioned to benefit from a funding stream aimed at moving prototypes into production and expanding local operations. The province notes that past recipients have gone on to create new jobs, enter export markets, and attract private investment — outcomes that align closely with economic priorities in Brandon and surrounding communities.
Economic Development, Investment and Trade Minister Jamie Moses says reopening the program will help more Manitoba companies compete globally while keeping innovation and job creation rooted in the province. The province is encouraging businesses to review the criteria and apply early, as demand for the program is typically strong.
Applications are now open, and businesses can find full details — including eligibility, funding caps, and required documentation — through the provincial portal here.
The deadline to apply is June 30, and successful applicants will be notified following the province’s review process.
