The Town of Carberry is taking a major step toward shaping its future, launching a community focus group designed to help build a long‑term “road map” for growth and development. The session, scheduled for June 6 at Carberry Memorial Hall, is part of the town’s ongoing update to its Community Strategic Plan — a document that guides decisions on housing, infrastructure, recreation, and economic priorities.
Local officials say the goal is simple: gather direct input from residents about what Carberry needs next. The town has been working to build on the momentum of its 2021 strategic plan, which set population‑growth targets, identified housing shortages, and highlighted the need for expanded services as the community continues to grow. With new development underway and more projects on the horizon, council says now is the right time to refresh the plan with updated public feedback.
Residents who cannot attend the focus group can still participate through an online Strategic Plan Survey, which asks for opinions on healthcare access, transportation, recreation facilities, business development, and long‑term community priorities. Town officials say the survey results and focus‑group discussions will be combined into a new strategic framework expected later this year.
Carberry’s leadership says the updated plan will help council make informed decisions and ensure the town’s growth reflects the needs and values of the people who live there. The town is encouraging all residents to take part in shaping Carberry’s next chapter.
