The latest group of students at Assiniboine College’s Parkland campus are ready to take their skills out into the wider world.
The college announced today they will recognize more than 60 graduates of their Parkland campus at a graduation ceremony today in Dauphin. The ceremony will also include the awarding of a Governor General’s Medal, presented to Early Childhood Education graduate, Calista Hudyma.
“I feel excited, but mostly I feel proud,” said Tammy Chief, a Business Administration Graduate who delivered this year’s valedictory address. “We showed dedication, commitment, and perseverance, and today really represents everything we’ve worked so hard to achieve. My experience at Parkland campus has been really positive. It was a good fit for me because it’s here in the community I live in, close to home, my support system, and my connections. The staff and faculty were always supportive, and my classmates became like family.”
“For many of our students, the journey to graduation hasn’t been a straight path,” said Carol Stewart, Director of the Parkland Campus. “They’ve balanced commitments to family, work, and their studies, and yet they’ve shown up every day with focus and heart. Watching them reach this milestone is incredibly rewarding, and it speaks to the strength of this campus and community.”
Assiniboine College will host additional graduation ceremonies in the coming weeks, including its largest celebration next week in Brandon.
