How Fast You Should Be Able To Walk A Mile At Every Age
Walking can be a simple way to raise your heart rate and lower the risk of disease, but it’s not just your step count that matters, pace is important, too.
How fast you walk can reveal important info about your health and longevity, and research reveals the pace a healthy adult should be able to hit.
In your 20s and 30s, walking for 13 to 19 minutes at a brisk pace of about 4.6 miles per hour is ideal, while in your 40s it’s 14 to 16 minutes at a pace of 4.3 mph and in your 60s, it drops to 16 to 18 minutes at 3.3 to 3.7 mph.
Did you notice that this survey does not include how fast 50-year old’s walk?
Tim says that means he’s just faster..hmmmm
