Severe weather on Sunday, July 5 led to another deluge of claims for Manitoba Public Insurance in the WestMan region, and the public insurer is deploying mobile resources to help deal with the sudden influx of requests for service.
MPI announced today they were setting up their dedicated hail trailer and increasing mobile estimating services in Boissevain and Killarney. This comes after the storm on July 5th produced more than 2000 claims.
According to a release, their mobile hail trailer will be set up at the Boissevain AG Arena (689 Rae Street) and MPI estimators will be on site in Killarney at the Royal Canadian Legion (112 Finlay Street East) beginning Monday, July 13 to serve customers who have already opened a claim and booked an appointment with MPI.
Customers who have yet to open a claim can do so by reporting online or by calling their Contact Centre at 1-800-665-2410. Customers who have already opened a claim with MPI are being
contacted directly to discuss their options.
The public insurer added they expect to keep these mobile services running in Boissevain and Killarney for at least a month. In the last month alone, they have received over 30,000 claims related to severe weather from across the province.
