Killarney RCMP have arrested four suspects after a 19‑year‑old man was violently assaulted, bound with tape and abandoned near a wooded area late on July 13.
Police say the victim was preparing to leave the community around 11:20 p.m. when several males attacked him, holding him down, wrapping him in a blanket and taping his ankles and hands. He was then assaulted with a stick, robbed of two cellphones and two small knives, and loaded into the back of an off‑road vehicle before being dropped off a distance away. Three of the suspects were partially masked.
The victim eventually freed himself and returned home, where RCMP were contacted.
Four suspects from the RM of Killarney–Turtle Mountain — ranging in age from 16 to 31 — have been arrested. Justin Gross, Gideon Walder and Jayden Waldner, ages 31, 22 and 26, are each charged with:
- Forcible confinement
- Disguised with intent
- Overcoming resistance
- Robbery
A 16‑year‑old male faces charges of:
- Forcible confinement
- Robbery with weapon
- Overcoming resistance
All four were released on court‑ordered conditions. RCMP say the investigation remains active.
