Arrest Warrants
Over the past 24 hours, two individuals were arrested on outstanding Warrants for Arrest. Both individuals were released on Appearance Notices with future court dates.
Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act (PDCIPA)
In the past 24 hours one individual was arrested for PDCIPA and brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. They will be released once sober and able to care for themselves safely.
Breach of the Peace
Over the past 24 hours, BPS responded to seven separate incidents resulting in seven different individuals getting arrested for Breach of the Peace.
The individuals were brought to BPS detention cells to allow the situations to de-escalate and the disruptive behaviour to cease. They will be released once they are sober or calm and able to safely care for themselves.
Failure to Comply Release Order x3 / Resist Arrest
On July 23rd, 2026, just before 2:00 a.m., officers conducted a pedestrian check on a 34-year-old male in the 000 block of 9th Street. The male was found to be in breach of the conditions of his Release Order by failing to comply with his 9:00 p.m. curfew, being intoxicated, and providing officers with an address that differed from the one listed on his Release Order. When advised that he was under arrest, the male fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, officers arrested him without further incident. The male was transported to BPS detention cells and held in custody to appear before the court on the morning of July 23rd, 2026.
Assault
On July 22nd at 8:09 a.m. police were called to an apartment in the 100 block of Lorne Avenue as a 35-year-old male had assaulted his mother. No EMS was required. Police attended and the male was arrested on scene and charged with Assault. He was later released via Undertaking with a future court date of October 1st, 2026.
Assault / Utter Threats / Possession of a Weapon / Failure to Comply Release Order
On July 22nd at 2:00 p.m. a 37-year-old male was reported to be causing a disturbance with security at Town Centre. Upon arguing with the staff, he then pushed them, pulled a pocketknife, and uttered threats. The male then fled on foot. He was quickly apprehended by police at a nearby park. The male was arrested, brought to BPS detention cells and held in custody to appear before the court on the morning of July 23rd, 2026.
