The City of Brandon has officially reopened the canteen at the Brandon Community Sportsplex, welcoming Los Brothers as the new food provider at the popular recreation facility. Located at 30 Knowlton Drive, the canteen is now serving a mix of classic favourites and the authentic flavours that have made Los Brothers a standout in Brandon’s local food scene.
Construction and preparations have been underway since last fall, with the refreshed canteen now ready to serve athletes, families, spectators, and visitors throughout the week. Hours run Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with extended service available during games and special events.
For owners Rick and Alma Yanes, the new location represents a meaningful step forward. “Cooking has always been about bringing people together,” said Rick Yanes. He added that Los Brothers was built on long hours, passion, and food made with care — and that every visitor should feel like family when they walk up to the counter. Popular items such as Birria tacos, smash burgers, and warm drinks between games are all part of their commitment to serving the community with pride.
Mayor Jeff Fawcett says the return of food service is a welcome addition for everyone using the Sportsplex, while also supporting a homegrown business. He calls it a win for athletes, families, spectators, and the broader community.
Residents are encouraged to stop by, meet the Los Brothers team, and help celebrate a new chapter at Brandon’s Community Sportsplex.
