Thousands of Brandon residents were left without power Wednesday evening after a series of outages affected several parts of the city.
According to Manitoba Hydro, at least seven separate outages were reported, impacting approximately 4,600 customers in Brandon’s west and south ends. Crews were dispatched to investigate and restore service, while residents reported darkened neighbourhoods and temporary disruptions to homes and businesses.
Hydro’s outage map showed multiple incidents occurring around the same time, creating widespread service interruptions across the city. Power was gradually restored as crews worked through the evening to address the affected areas.
Manitoba Hydro has not released details on what caused the outages. Residents are encouraged to report outages and downed power lines and to stay clear of any damaged electrical equipment until crews have completed repairs.
The outages served as a reminder of how quickly service interruptions can affect daily life, with thousands of households and businesses impacted during the evening hours.
