As Prairie Mountain Health gets services restored to Dauphin one by one following heavy flooding at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre, dialysis services are going to be the next major medical service restored.
According to PMH, dialysis services will be provided at Dauphin Regional Health Centre in the Community Health Services building. This is part of their efforts to restore services after flooding on and around Canada Day.
“Since the flooding, many dialysis patients have been receiving treatment in other Manitoba communities,” said PMH in a release. “As services return to Dauphin, patients will be transitioning back to receiving care closer to home. Patients who will be receiving dialysis treatment in Dauphin will be contacted directly by their dialysis care team. The care team will provide information about appointment schedules, treatment locations, and next steps.”
In their release, PMH said patients and families who have questions about treatment locations, scheduling, transportation or other details, should speak with their dialysis care team. Care teams will work with each patient to determine the treatment location that best meets their individual needs.
They also said patients will be responsible for arranging their transportation to and from appointments and care services.
