Brandon police say on Thursday, October 28th, a female youth was charged for allegedly assaulting another female youth while at a school volleyball game on Wednesday, October 27th. The victim was not seriously injured. The female youth was located by police and was arrested without incident and will appear in Court on Tuesday, December 7th.

On Thursday, October 28th, at approximately 1429 hours, Brandon police were called to a business in the 1500 block of 18th Street for a complaint of a male causing problems. Police located a 32-year-old man in the area, who officers say was allegedly in breach of a Release Order which had conditions not to possess a knife or weapons, and not to consume alcohol or illegal drugs. Police say a search of the suspect turned up a machete. He’s to appear in court today (Oct 29).

On Thursday, October 28th, at approximately 0220 hrs, Brandon police there was a break-in to a shed in the 500 block of 4th Street. It’s unknown if anything is missing. Brandon Police originally received a complaint from a female on Monday, March 29th of a sexual assault that occurred on Saturday March 27th. A police investigation was conducted and the matter sent to the Crown Attorney’s office for opinion. Charges were authorized based on the evidence provided. A 21-year-old man attended Brandon Police Service and was arrested and charged. He was released on an Undertaking to appear in court on Monday December 20th 2021.

On Thursday October 28th, Police attended the area of Wankling Boulevard after stopping a vehicle which was first reported stolen by the The Pas RCMP. A 23 year old Brandon woman was arrested and charged for allegedly taking a the vehicle without the owners consent. Police also allege she had a warrant for her arrest for breach of a conditional sentence order. She’s to appear in court today (Oct 29). Police say a 52-year-old Brandon man, who was located near the vehicle, was also arrested for alleged possession of over 8 grams of meth. He’s to appear in court on Thursday, 6th January 2022. A search of the recovered vehicle by a Police Service Dog also allegedly turned up about 10 grams of meth. A 30-year-old woman from Marius, Manitoba – and a 47-year-old woman from Brandon, who were the occupants of the vehicle, were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. Both were released and are to appear in court on Monday, November 1st.

On Friday, October 29th, at approximately 0437 hours, Brandon police stopped a vehicle in the 2100 Block of Currie Boulevard. Officers say they spotted a set of brass knuckles in the drivers door pocket, and later discovered about 6 grams meth during a search. A 22-year-old woman from Sherwood Park, Alberta was arrested and is to appear in court on Thursday, January 6th, 2022.
