Environment Canada has issued an Extreme Cold Warning for:

Mun. of Norfolk Treherne
Mun. of North Cypress-Langford incl. Neepawa and Carberry
Mun. of North Norfolk incl. MacGregor Sidney and Austin
Mun. of Oakland-Wawanesa incl. Carroll
R.M. of Cornwallis west of Shilo incl. Chater
R.M. of Elton incl. Forrest
R.M. of Victoria incl. Holland and Cypress River
A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills is expected.
A bitterly cold arctic airmass has moved into southern Manitoba and will remain over the area for the next several days, resulting in a extended period of extreme wind chills.
Extreme wind chill values of -40 to -45 will persist over the region through the latter part of this week. There will be slight moderation during the day, however extreme wind chills will return overnight for the next several nights.
Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.
Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.
Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.
If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside.
Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
