On March 2, 2022, at approximately 7:00 am, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a shooting in Dakota Plains Wahpeton Oyate, Manitoba. Officers attended immediately and located an injured 50-year-old woman.
Investigation determined four people were inside the residence when the shooting occurred. The injured woman was sleeping in her bed when she was struck by bullets shot from outside the residence. Several rounds were found to have struck and entered the house. Nobody else inside the residence was physically injured.
The female was taken to hospital, treated, and released. RCMP continue to look for suspects.
