Lynx Air (Lynx) has added Winnipeg International Airport to its network with the launch of its inaugural Calgary-Winnipeg and Vancouver-Winnipeg flights.
Canada’s newest airline is bringing its ultra-affordable fares to Manitoba, starting with twice-weekly services to both Calgary and Vancouver. As of May 5, Lynx will expand its Winnipeg network, with the launch of twice-weekly flights to and from Toronto Pearson Airport. On the same day, the airline will increase its Calgary-Winnipeg services to four times a week. At that point, the airline will be flying a total of 16 flights per week in and out of Winnipeg, which is more than 3,000 seats per week.
Lynx is determined to make its ultra-affordable fares accessible to all Canadians, with Winnipeg fares starting from $59*. Today’s announcement comes as the airline embarks on a rapid expansion of its network in the lead-up to the busy summer period. Lynx tickets are already on sale for 10 destinations coast to coast across Canada, including Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto Pearson, Hamilton, Halifax and St. John’s. The airline operates a fleet of brand-new, fuel-efficient Boeing 737 aircraft and plans to grow its fleet to more than 46 aircraft over the next five to seven years.
To commemorate Lynx’s inaugural Winnipeg services, the airline has launched a limited-time seat sale and is offering up to 50 per cent off all base fares to and from Winnipeg International Airport. The sale will run from April 19 to April 21 and will end on April 22 at 00:59 CST. For full sale details and to reserve your discounted seat, please visit FlyLynx.com.
“Today’s inaugural flights to Winnipeg represent a significant milestone in our mission to make air travel affordable for all,” said Merren McArthur, CEO of Lynx. “We want to be the airline that links Canadians to their favourite people and the country they love. Whether you are traveling to catch up with friends and family or to discover the inspiring art, music and history of Winnipeg, Lynx will ensure a great flying experience at an ultra-affordable price.”
“We’re excited to be included as part of Lynx’s first group of destinations,” said Nick Hays, President and CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority. “People tell us they’re ready to explore the world again, re-connect with loved ones and return to the places they love to visit. Thanks to Lynx Air, our region now has another low-cost option to do all these things.”
