On October 18, 2022, at approximately 4:30 pm, Brandon police responded to a report of witnesses hearing a window being broken in the 1500 block of 18th Street. When witnesses went to investigate the noise, a male was seen running away from a vehicle parked in the area and a window on the vehicle was left broken. Police say their investigation revealed that a backpack containing a laptop was stolen from the vehicle. Shortly after 5:00 pm, police located the male suspect outside a business in the 1900 block of Richmond Avenue. When officers approached him, he fled on foot towards 18th Street and officers pursued. When officers attempted to arrest him, he alegedly continued to resist and officers were required to deploy a conducted energy weapon in order to gain compliance. Once he was in police custody, he was identified as a 37-year-old man from Winnipeg. Police say the backpack and laptop were returned to the owner. The suspect was later released and will appear in court on charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Resist Arrest.

On October 19, 2022 shortly before 3:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female screaming in the 500 block of 16th Street. Police say they attempted to take the 21-year-old female home, but she was reportedly not welcome and was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober.
On October 19, 2022 shortly after 5:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male whose behavior was causing concern for his family members who were unable to prevent him from escalating. Police arrested the 23-year-old male who was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
On October 18, 2022 shortly after 3:00 pm, police responded to a report of a female causing a disturbance outside a residence by banging on the door. Police located the 21-year-old female consuming a non-potable substance. After she was medically cleared, she was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
Arrest Warrants:
On October 18, 2022, police located and arrested a 32-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court. He was later released and will appear in court on November 10, 2022.
On October 18, 2022, police located and arrested a 49-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood. He was later released to appear in court on a later date.
